Summary |
"This story is based on two rescues at Busselton, Western Australia. One rescue was a world-first, because of the number of people involved, and the survival rate in the pod. An estimated 1500 people turned out to save over 120 stranded false killer whales. It began with one person, culminating in a tidal wave of community support against insurmountable odds. All but one whale survived" -- From "Stranded, page 31" |
