| Biography/history |
No. 16 P.O.W. Camp was constructed in the bush near Dwellingup, with prisoners used to provide labour on farms and for cutting timber. It began operation in August 1943, and could hold up to 1200 prisoners. Marrinup housed both German and Italian prisoners of war, however the two groups were housed separately. The camp was closed in August 1946. |
