Biography/history
The future King George VI and his wife Elizabeth visited Australia as the Duke and Duchess of York in 1927. They were the royal representatives at the opening of the provisional Parliament House in Canberra on 9 May 1927
Summary
HMS Renown arrives in Fremantle on 18 May 1927 and the Duke and Duchess of York are greeted by crowds of well-wishers and local dignitaries, including Mayor of Fremantle, Frank Gibson.
