Biography/history |
The Special Service Squadron on a world cruise under the command of Vice Admiral Sir Frederick Laurence Field visited Western Australia from 27 February - 6 March 1924, stopping at Fremantle and Albany. The squadron consisted of battlecruisers HMS Hood and Repulse, and light cruisers HMS Delhi, Dauntless, Danae, Dragon and Dunedin. HMS Hood was the largest warship in the world on commissioning in 1920. |
