Biography/history |
Carrolup Aboriginal Settlement,established in 1912, was situated on the Carrolup River near Katanning, WA. It was there that Florence Rutter discovered children with great aptitude for drawing and painting. The most talented of these untrained artists were Parnell Dempster, Ross Jones, Reynolds Hart, Revel Cooper and Barry Loo, all aged 13 years. The settlement and its school later closed. |
