Biography/history |
Darby Durack arrived in N.S.W. with his wife and son in 1849. They were followed by his brother Michael's family in 1853. Their early years were spent on the Ovens Goldfield and on the land in N.S.W. and Western Queensland. In 1881 Patrick and Michael Durack undertook an expedition to the Kimberley in W.A. and in 1886-1888 they overlanded cattle from Queensland to the Kimberley to stock their new leases, which they and their descendants subsequently developed. |
