Notes The ferry is confirmed as the Silver Star and the location has been identified as Coffee Point, Applecross. (Perceptions of Melville 1900-2000, p. 27, 994.11/MEL). The old humpbacked Canning Bridge can be seen upper right.

The S.S. silver Star is disembarking passengers, complete with picnic baskets. The river banks of pure white sand were a favourite spot for picnics

While these images are found in two collections they are almost certainly taken by the same photographer some minutes apart. BA1412 is a collection from an unknown donor and may in fact be part of the Passey collection.
