Biography/history |
Soldier and explorer. Arrived in WA in March 1836 as Lieutenant of the 21st Regiment stationed at York, Pinjarra and Busselton. Discovered the Bunbury district on a pioneer overland journey from Perth to the Vasse River settlement (later Busselton). Led a punitive expedition against Aborigines in the Avon Valley after the murder of white settlers there. Left WA in November 1837. |
