Biography/history |
St George's Church was opened for worship in 1845 and made a Cathedral in about 1857 when Mathew Hale was apointed as first Bishop of Perth. Later a new building was commenced which was consecrated in 1888. Church of England services were held in Western Australia from the colony's inception in 1829. The Church of England in Australia was established in 1962 and, in 1981, became the Anglican Church of Australia. |
