Biography/history	Prior to 1945, brewery workers in W.A. were covered by two separate unions, one covering Eastern Goldfields breweries, the other covering breweries in Perth and the coastal towns. In 1945, the Breweries & Bottleyards Employees' Industrial Union of Workers of Western Australia was formed with the amalgamation of the Breweries Marine Store & Bottleyards Union (which began as the Coastal Breweries Employees Union in 1910) and the Eastern Goldfields Union.
