Dampier Tom Price Railway saw its first iron ore train operate through from Tom Price to Dampier on 23rd June 1966 but it was officially opened on 1st July 1966 by Rus Madigan, MD for Hamersley Iron and Charles Court, Minister for Industrial Development. Final dog spike driven by the Minister for Industrial Development the Hon Charles Court at Tom Price.
