Biography/history |
Bob Hawke was elected the Member for Wills (Victoria) in 1980. He was Shadow Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations from 1980 to 1983. Hawke became Leader of the Opposition in February 1983. The next month he was Prime Minister. His term continued until 1991, when Paul Keating successfully challenged his leadership. Hawke left politics in February 1992. Information from National Archives of Australia. |
