| Biography/history |
An independent not-for-profit organisation providing support and advocacy for refugees living in Western Australia. Formed in 2000 in response to the Australian government issuing Temporary Protection Visas (TPVs), CARAD provides settlement services for refugees; links volunteers in the community with refugees who are unable or uneligible to access mainstream and government services; opposes mandatory detention and campaigns for alternative models for the assessment of claims for refugee status as well as changes to legislation. |
