Summary Article in the 'Truth' newspaper 6 October 1929 p.9., describes how on the night of 30 September, Harry Hall (45) (they name him Robert but other reports and the Coroner name him as Harry Hall aged 45) entered the house of Mr & Mrs Hepburn, poultry farmers of High Road Palmyra and shot and wounded the parents and their daughter Jessie. Hall then went half a mile up the road and shot dead in bed taxi driver Robert Banks (44). Police and ambulance arrived and when they searched for Hall, found a second body, Harry Burton (34), driver employed by Groves Dairy, in Waddell road near Preston Point Road. Hall threatened trotting identity James Booth of Palmyra. Harry Hall shot himself dead when he was surrounded by police in bush near scene of last killing on the morning of 1 October 1929. Harry Hall was a pig farmer from Queensland who had been suspicious of his neighbours and thought they were poisoning his livestock.
