Biography/history The Congregational Union of Western Australia was formed in 1895 as an association of Congregational Churches. The Australasian Council of Congregationalism met from 1903, later becoming the Congregational Union of Australia. On 22 June 1977 the Congregational Union of Australia united with the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia to form the Uniting Church in Australia. A dissenting minority of Congregational Churches continues to operate as Congregational Churches.
