Summary Begins with city scene, moves to country, and includes Aboriginal peoples with weapons and tools. The production of jarrah, karri and wandoo timber from the forests of the South West, with particular emphasis on Nannup and Northcliffe. Includes images of felling, sawing, drying, steam kilns, transport (by steam locomotive) and testing. Deals with fire prevention in the forest, and shows some of the uses to which timber is put, such as floorboards and weatherboards, railway sleepers (Trans-Australian railway), Kalgoorlie mines including guards and crossarms on telegraph poles.
